America II
In 1987 America II challenged Dennis Connor of the Stars and Stripes in the America's Cup. This $10 million, 12 meter yacht, with its now-famous winged keel, is considered one of the fastest racing hulls in the world. A performance sailing yacht like America II offers up more excitement than a more relaxed type catamaran sailboat, (translation: you might get wet!) but the real thrills come on their afternoon performance sail when the tradewinds are blowing wow!
